As part of a university project, I created an alternative musical proposal for a central scene from the short film Spring, produced by Blender Studio. I used the original video without its soundtrack to compose my own music, exploring how a different accompaniment can offer a new interpretation of the scene.
The sequence shows a girl walking through the forest with her dog, in a serene and visually captivating natural setting. I aimed to reflect that atmosphere through gentle piano melodies and delicate strings, evoking calm, innocence, and a connection with nature. The pace is slow and immersive, following the scene’s visual tempo without interfering with the narrative.
As the story progresses, the music evolves. I introduced subtle changes in the harmony, new timbres, and textures that add curiosity, dynamism, and even a hint of tension, suggesting that something is about to change. This transition supports the short film’s emotional turn and anticipates the new stage in the protagonist’s journey.
In the final section, the main theme returns with variations that add depth and a sense of closure. I widened the stereo field and introduced slightly different instrumentation to convey an emotional evolution that can be felt even without the image.
