Quico Àvila

Sounds that bring imagination to life.

— Quico Àvila Forés

Freelance sound designer and sound technician.

My relationship with music began at the age of 8, when I started studying piano at the Mestre Feliu Conservatory in Benicarló (Castellón).

Since then, sound has always been present in my life and, over time, it has become my profession as a sound technician and sound creator.

Technical training and first steps

I trained as a Sound Technician for Audiovisuals and Shows at IES Vila-roja in Almazora. There, I acquired a solid foundation in miking, mixing, and technical setup.

This training allowed me to start working in live sound with companies and projects in the Valencian Community.

I collaborated with Produccions Metrònom, La Fam, and La Ravalera Teatre.

I carried out technical and creative tasks in fields such as theater, street performance, and live music.

Specialization in interactive sound

Later, I expanded my training in Barcelona, pursuing a Degree in Music Production and Sound for the Entertainment Industry at ENTI – University of Barcelona.

There, I discovered the potential of interactive sound design, adaptive composition, and production for digital media, especially video games.

Professional services

I currently work as a freelance sound designer and sound technician, offering services in three main areas:

Live show sound engineering

I collaborate with sound and lighting companies such as SOBAGES, FOKUM and with various theaters and festivals.

I have worked as a sound and lighting technician at concerts for the Sant Fruitós International Classical Music Festival, held at Món Sant Benet.

I also participated in the recording and live sound technical support during the 50th anniversary concert of Companyia Elèctrica Dharma at Palau Sant Jordi (Barcelona, October 2023), under the coordination of Toni Castaño Cansino, head technician of the company TNCNET SCP.
I am currently part of the 2024–2025 tour of the show Lo cant de les ànimes mudes by La Tremenda Companyia, serving as sound technician for various performances throughout Catalonia.

I provide technical judgment, musical sensitivity, and adaptability in diverse stage environments.

Studio recording and mixing

I have worked in environments such as the ENTI recording studio and Estudi Ground, under the coordination of Jaume Figueres, the studio’s head technician.
There, I took on technical responsibility for several professional sessions with active artists, such as Joan Reggae Drummer (for international producer Major Seven), Isabel Florian, and BlancoTeta.
These recordings included multitrack sessions with Pro Tools and sound processing with professional tools, always adapted to the style and needs of each project.
Additionally, I have conducted recordings at the Jamboree Jazz Club, including the performance by Elsa Armengou at Jamboree 3.

Sound design and music for video games

One of my most recent projects was a virtual reality card game, where I was responsible for the musical composition and audio implementation using FMOD and Unity.
I have also worked on the development of the video game Rain City with Ludens Studio SL, as part of the European PlayComp program.

My role included sound co-design, music and effects composition, implementation, and active participation in the 4YFN25 event at the Mobile World Congress.

Furthermore, I collaborated on the documentary Fighting the Rare, focused on research into Lafora disease.

My tasks included the recording and technical supervision of voice-overs, as well as technical support during sound sessions.

Professional commitment

As a freelance sound designer and sound technician, my goal is to collaborate with independent studios, cultural production companies, creative teams, and developers who value sound as an essential part of the experience.

I provide dedication, flexibility, and a creative and technical perspective at the service of every project.
