As part of a university project, I created an alternative musical proposal for a documentary focused on ocean life and landscapes. I used the footage without its original soundtrack to compose my own piece, exploring how different music can bring a new interpretation to the images.
Inspired by the majesty of the marine environment, I wanted the music to function as an emotional thread, enhancing the narrative without distraction. To achieve this, I worked with processed synthesizers, enveloping textures, and carefully designed aquatic sounds, seeking to simulate the sensation of being submerged underwater and evoke calm, vastness, and mystery.
Throughout the piece, I used smooth modulations, dynamic filters, and deep reverberations to provide fluidity and spatial sensation, enveloping the listener in a realistic and poetic underwater atmosphere. The harmonies are designed to reinforce the documentary’s emotional impact without overshadowing the images, opting for a minimalist aesthetic consistent with the visual rhythm.
The result is an immersive sonic proposal that breathes with the ocean and accompanies the viewer on a journey that combines technique, emotion, and visual narrative.
